Those of you who use FreeStyle testers may have noted that the strips look different and seem to work much better. The strips now have a thing called "Zip Wik" which almost grabs your drop of blood it sucks it in so fast. The strips work well in the FreeStyle Lite meters. The strips are easily recognizable as they have a butterfly on them.
Problem which has been brought up, these strips are not approved for the use in OmniPod. The OmniPod device uses the classic strips for now. If you are using the OmniPod, you should request the "classic" strips at your pharmacy. You can find out the pharmacy in your area by calling Abbott Customer Service at 888-522-5226. If you got the "butterfly" strips, Abbott will replace up to 500 at a time if that appears to be the best choice.
